New Year...New You??

Writer's picture: Ronni and JennieRonni and Jennie

As a new year approaches, you might feel the need to set goals, or make resolutions. This focuses your attention on your flaws, or what's "wrong" in your life.

It's part of a larger societal pressure to view yourself as a "project" that needs constant work--pushing you to keep reaching for the "best" possible version of you...or your "highest" self.

We invite you to take a different approach. Instead of setting goals, try facing the New Year with curiosity, allowing it to unfold as it will, knowing you always have the power to make new choices if things aren't going the way you'd like. And instead of searching for problem behaviors to eradicate, embrace the wonder and beauty of you, just as you are.

Self-love and compassion will make this your best year ever. Welcome it with excitement and hope, and embrace the uncertainty, the challenges, the gifts, and the joys of each day.
