The World is Still a Wonderful Place

We've been through a lot in the last ten years, especially in the United States.

COVID, for one thing.

And our politics, and culture, seem to be sinking to ever more hateful and divisive levels. Just this week, the President of the United States threatened to wipe the entire Persian Civilization off the face of the world. If you weren't terrified, you weren't paying attention.

Many of us are grieving what we have lost--democratic norms and principles, civil discourse, caring for our neighbors, and sense of common purpose. For those of us who want to lead lives centered in love, compassion, and peace, there is much work to do.

But even as we call out the hate, greed, and corruption that we see around us--as we push back and try to rebuild our world--it's important to appreciate all that we still have. The reminders are everywhere.

Take a walk outside.

Engage in something you enjoy.

Spend extra time with those you love--hug them longer...and more often.

There is still much to celebrate and relish, even as we work to correct course. Let's embrace both the journey ahead, and the joy of the present.
